Did you learn enough?
Since secondary school, you probably did not use half of what you were exerted to study... like algebra, as an example. To be 100% clear, I’m not stating that all knowledge isn’t power, because the more you learn the better. It is not about the schooling system and the curriculum but its about life lessons nobody ever taught you.
Below are 6 Important things one learns by time.
1. Learn to be Independent
2. Learn that life’s not a race, but it’s a marathon
Failures are the stepping stones to success. Without failure, one will never fully understand the power of success. After all, what you are doing is 100 percent for yourself and nobody else.
3. Learn that less is more
Another thing I learnt outside school grounds is that less is more. When you understand the true beauty of happiness, you conclude that the little things leave the most impact on you. Having a lower quantity allows more time to focus on quality.
4. Learn that friends aren’t everything
You learn that friends aren’t important as you thought they were as everyone changes by time and leaves to different directions where you find out that you can always make new ones. Life teaches us that with friends or without, we remain who we are and our friends don’t make us, but we make ourselves.
5. Learn to empathise
Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Too often we judge people without even knowing their name. One must try to understand them, put one’s self in their shoes before concluding assumptions. Life becomes much better if you learn this art.
6. Learn to learn more!
One has to accept that just because he/she has a degree or masters in a particular subject, learning is never enough! As human beings, we are continuously learning and that is why one can never say 'I’ve learnt enough' and 'I know everything' as there is so much more one can discover and learn.
Until next time,
